BEST CHEESE TOASTIE IN LEICESTER? | ST MARTIN'S COFFEE SHOP, LEICESTER
Leicester has always been a spot that I've passed through on the train to uni without any thought of visiting - sorry all those hailing from Leicester. But last week, Maya and I decided rather than to go into town on our day off from uni, we would pop over to Leicester and see what it was all about!
The first stop on our trip was to St Martin's Coffee Shop, a quaint coffee shop in the St Martin's Square area of Leicester featuring lots of nice bars, restaurants and cafes. We found it from a quick Google search so I'm sure its a firm favourite in Leicester.
We stumbled in and seated ourselves in their spacious upstairs seating area. If I went to uni in Leicester, I would definitely come here as a study spot as there were plenty of seats perfect for a study sesh.
We both opted for the amazing-sounding Grilled Triple Cheese toasties with smoked paprika mayo and oh mummy - it was probably one of the best things we'd ever tasted in our lives! The cheese was oozing out and the sourdough bread was toasted to perfection. The paprika mayo was the icing on the cake, and we were sad when the toasties came to an end!
The AllPress Espresso coffee was also a hit, with Maya's £1.50 filter coffee being one of the best filter coffees I'd ever tasted. My latte was also a hit, if I lived in Leicester I'd get my coffee here all the time!
We finished off the day with a shopping spree around Highcross. All in all a good day spent and worth the £8 return train in itself just for the toasties!
